Recent Finding: Women who take daily iron supplements have, on average, 40% lower risk for infertility caused by ovulation problems than those who don't take iron supplements. The higher the iron dosage, the lower the risk for infertility. Women who take the highest doses-41 mg a day-reduced their risk for infertility by 62%. Caution: Take iron supplements only under a doctor's supervision. Iron overload can cause damage to internal organs.
