I was fortunate enough to go see one of my favorite bands last Thursday. Over the Rhine played in downtown Kingsport, TN. They sounded great live and I think a few of the songs were better because you could really hear the dynamics and punches that are more subtle on the albums, a good example of this was Firefly.
The venue was their old town main street that had been closed down to auto traffic with a big stage set up. It was ideal for us because we were able to take our two children. It was fun to watch them dance in the street with other children and with me. We picked up their new disc, Discount Fireworks, which is a "best of" album. They have a new album being released soon and I am really looking forward to it. Their best album, in my opinion, is Drunkard's Prayer.
I also really like their Christmas CD's, most notably, The Darkest Night of the Year. Oh, and if you go to their website, they have a feature called "Over the Rhine radio." This will let you listen to a few of their tunes for free. Be sure to check them out.

Funny, I never remember you mentioning this as one of your favorite bands before... But I'll check them out.
